We headed into to Kununurra on Sunday, so there was not a lot open, especially as at first we were still up and driving at our normal time, but we had to change our clocks back by 1.5 hours so we arrived in town pretty early. We found a great place to stay by the lake side and went out to lunch at a friend of friend’s house. We had a great day relaxing and finding out lots of information from all the other travellers who are heading the opposite direction, and therefore have just done the Gibb River Road and all the places we are planning to visit. The great thing about travelling around Australia is all the fantastic people you meet along the road, and everyone is only too willing share information and point you in the right direction in terms of places which are great to see and others which are over rated, and where all the cheap or free places to camp the night or sometimes more importantly where the really expensive places are so that you can avoid them!
Aidan and Cody had a very adventurous night here as they went croc hunting! Yes they walked down the lake’s edge with the ‘neighbours’ kids and caught a crocodile and brought it back. They turned in little Steve Erwin’s. The little croc was so cute – it is a freshy, no salt water ones in this lake.
